Basic Shampoo Ingredients
Our shampoo bars are all made with the same cleansing base before essential oil and natural colourants are added to give each bar its unique properties. If tyou want to know more about those ingredients keep reading:
Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate & Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate (SLSA): Derived from coconut oil, these gentle surfactants effectively cleanse the hair and scalp without stripping away natural oils, leaving your hair feeling clean and refreshed. Not to be confused with Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), SCI and SLSA are milder alternatives, that are more suitable to sensitive skin, ensuring a gentle yet effective cleanse.
Cocamidopropyl Betaine & Decyl Glucoside: Also derived from coconut oil and glucose, these mild surfactants help to create a rich lather while gently cleansing the hair and scalp.
Cetyl Alcohol & Cetearyl Alcohol: These fatty alcohols act as emollients, helping to soften and moisturise the hair, leaving it feeling smooth and hydrated.
Cocoa Butter: Rich in antioxidants and fatty acids, cocoa butter helps to nourish and condition the hair, leaving it soft, shiny, and more manageable.
Citric Acid: Derived from citrus fruits, citric acid helps to balance the pH of the shampoo bar, ensuring a gentle and effective cleanse without drying the hair shaft.
Geogard Ultra: A natural preservative derived from plant materials, Geogard Ultra helps to prolong the shelf life of our shampoo bars without the use of synthetic chemicals.
Apple Cider Vinegar: Known for its clarifying properties, apple cider vinegar helps to remove buildup and impurities from the hair and scalp, leaving it feeling clean and balanced. ACV also helps to manage the pH of the shampoo bars.
